The Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) is a National annual event of Pharmacists from all walks of Pharmacy Profession to deliberate various issues relating to Industry, regulatory, academia, hospital and community pharmacy and to evolve collective wisdom for formulating newer policies for the country and for the betterment of mankind.

IPCA organizes the IPC every year with an objective “To advance and promote the cause of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Profession of Pharmacy in all their aspects so as to ensure that Indian Pharmacy Products and profession are the best in the world and to help the public to get the best of benefit out of the same”.

The First IPC was held in Calcutta in Dec. 1948 under the leadership of Prof. M.L. Schroff, and continued the legacy in the field of Pharmacy by organizing 72 congresses throughout the country to promote better dealing of the Pharmaceutical products including latest innovations in Pharmacy and to create awareness among general public on matters of common interest to the Pharmacy community and thus to the society at large. The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) organised 58 IPC’s from 1948 to 2006 continuously. From 2007 onwards IPC is being organised by Federating Associations (IPA-APTI-IPGA-AIDCOC-IHPA) on rotation system. The 73rd IPC is being organised by IPA as per rotation system followed.

The 73rd IPC is being held for the 6th Time in the most happening city of Hyderabad during 05th - 07th, July 2024 and will be hosted by IPA at the Venue Hitex Exhibition Centre. The theme “Role of Indian Pharma : For Global Wellbeing” envisages the commendable contribution made by Indian Pharma Industry to meet the Global needs and the role to be played at Global Level to promote and realize the vision of Healthy World. The stimulated deliberations, discussions, exchange of technology, MOU’s will facilitate thought processes for the betterment of the pharmacy profession.

Hyderabad is known for its historic legacy and cultural diversity, it is a fusion of gastronomic flavour, regal culture, monuments, and the rich history of Hyderabad it is the most populous city of the state of Telangana, making it the 4th largest city in India. The history of Hyderabad’s grand heritage can be seen not only in its majestic monuments and museums but even in its festivals, its traditions that are practised even today, a culture of happiness and togetherness that still the city of Hyderabad cherishes as well as enjoys. The capital city of Telangana has earned the sobriquet of ‘Pearl City’ from a long time as the city is associated with the lucrative trade of various forms of jewellery made using Pearls.

The 73rd Indian Pharmaceutical Congress 2024, Hyderabad invites leaders from Pharma Industry, Regulatory, Academia, Research, Hospital and Community across the globe to deliberate and present their vision in their respective areas and views about the major role to be played by Indian Pharma Industry and Pharmacy professional in the health care system.
